A Great Customer...

Today I received a phone call that one of my most treasured customers had recently passed away. T.A. "Tex" Cox was a native Texan living in Connecticut who knew a good pecan when he tasted one. His favorite pecans were the Choctaw but he actually loved all our pecans. He wanted me to send him the pecans still in the shell so he could crack and shell them himself.

Mr. Cox had been in failing health for some time now, but he put up a good fight. He wanted to stay around to have as much time with his beloved wife Joycie. They have been married for almost 70 years.

I never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Cox face to face, but I felt like we were good friends. His phone calls and emails were always a pleasure and he had great stories and wonderful points of view. In reading what others have said about Mr. Cox, it seems that everyone who ever met him was very blessed.

My sincere condolences go out to all of Mr. Cox's family and friends. I am so blessed to have known him.

Fabulous Fudge for Spring!

Spring is in the air and even in our delicious homemade fudge!

We now have our plain chocolate fudge decorated with pastel colored M&Ms. This delightful twist on one of our favorite fudge flavors adds a little bit of fun and is the perfect gift for children (and even for those who are still young at heart)!

Another sweet treat combines our chocolate fudge with coconut. Kathy dyed the coconut flakes green to look like grass and put bubble gum "Easter eggs" on top. This fudge is too cute...but not too cute to eat! If you like coconut you will love this fudge.

Hop in and see what all fabulous fudge we have available!

Divinity Fudge is BACK!

Every time we think the Divinity fudge has worn out its welcome and we decide to stop making it we get bombarded with requests for it. Soooo...Kathy was nice enough to make up a few more pans of our famous and delicious Divinity fudge.

I am still amazed how well this flavor does. To me it seems like a very "holiday" time of year flavor. Of course, this would not be the first time I was wrong!

Hurry in and buy a piece today!

Healthy Facts About Pecans

According to a recent article by Life Extension Foundation, a new research study done at Loma Linda University (located in California) has found more evidence to prove that pecans are in fact a healthy food. Research shows that "eating pecans increases the amount of healthy antioxidants" and these antioxidants are "indeed absorbed in the body and provide a protective effect against diseases" such as cancer and heart disease.

The study had participants eating about three ounces of pecans. The participants were both men and women ranging in ages from 23 to 44 years of age.
